    Default 4runner axles

Anyone know if a 99 Runner w/ five speed manual and a 97 Runner w/ auto tranny share the same rear end gear ratios ,etc in stock form ? Wondering if the 97 rear from an auto would 'plug and play ' to replace the high mileage one in the 99 5 speed ?
Thanks for any insight on this ;-)

most likely not, simply due to the auto tranny. My guess would be the 99 has 4.10 in the rear and the 97 has 4.30. It's just a guess and all depends on the package. easy way to check is jack up one side and spin the tire while counting the revolutions of the driveshaft.
