It's been like that all winter. I think they forgot to update the status page.

Kind of what I figured, darn!

This will be the first clean-up I've missed. I'll be in IL at a wedding reception on the 26th.

To lessen confusion and make it easier on everyone, we've combined the Barbour Fork and Devil's Canyon cleanup run into one Planned Trail Run thread.

If you RSVP'd to the Devil's Canyon run and not the Barbour Fork run and can make one, please RSVP on the newly titled combined run.

If you have a preference for one trail or the other, please indicate that on your RSVP. Of course, we might have to move folks around if we don't have enough for one trail or the other.

Let's get some more folks signed up as a "yes." This is one of two opportunities a year to help clean up two popular trails, which the Forest Services is grateful for and which reflects well on four-wheeler and the Front Range 4x4 membership.

Cleanup run day's getting closer and only four of us have signed up, with a handful of maybes. Can we get a few more commitments?

Seven Yes and 10 Maybe's is looking better, a few more commitments would be great.

Experience shows about 6 per trail is ideal to make short work of it and have time to play.

Good point, there should be plenty of folks willing to take riders.

Since a couple of people have asked what to bring on a cleanup run:

    1) Anything you'd bring on a regular run: recovery gear, water, lunch, first-aid kit, etc.
    2) Gloves for picking up stuff you don't want to touch or that can cut you.
    3) Heavy-duty trash bags or a five-gallon bucket with a lid. You won't have to haul the trash home. We'll drop it off back at the ranger station.
    4) Brant, the Forest Service guy, has suggested wearing long pants, long-sleeve shirts and work or hiking boots (no sandals or flip-flops) on cleanup runs. If Brant hands out hard hats (maybe not since we're not doing construction, but he might), remember to wear them, especially when the cameras are out.

That's really all I can think of, since we're not digging holes for signs this time.

I don't know if the Forest Service guys and gals cruise the trail before it opens (I think it opened on the 14th) and clear any dead trees across the trail, but if not, it would be good to have a chain saw on hand. Anyone have a small one?

I was wondering if anyone was in favor of doing a pot-luck lunch of some sort? I'd be willing to bring my two-burner camp stove and a big pot of sloppy joes or something. If someone has a portable grill, I could bring burgers and dogs. Thoughts??? Or is it better for everyone to bring their own lunch and be done with it?

My only thought is that we'll be splitting up into two groups and we haven't decided who's running in which group. It wouldn't be easy for both groups to meet up for lunch. It'll probably be easier for all of us to fend for ourselves with lunch.

I will most likely have an extra seat, Karla usually works on Saturdays. I'm not sure yet what her schedule is that day.

Sorry for not replying, was out of town for work.

I agree it's probably best to skip the potluck and just get the work done. I have no idea what waits for us up there.
