Thread: Too much talk about change

  1. #1

Default Too much talk about change

    Not enough doing

People always seem to talk about, making a difference, starting a revolution, causing a change.
Well where the f**k is it?

    Kids these days. I swear.

If you want to make a change, start a revolution, make a difference in the world,
Get off your fat f**king arse and do it.

It only takes one to cause it to happen, one.

It only needs one small push to start it, one person,
    and the rest will follow,
Why must we wait for someone else to lead? Lead yourself, it helps,
There's too many followers and not enough leaders, thats why,
    On this day.

I'm making a promise to start a revolution. To make a change, change this world and rid it of all the ignorance, hate, violence and close mindedness.

I'm going to take the lead.
I may just be some quiet kid, that nobody really likes, but I promise you. I'm going to do it.
    It takes, one.

    Anybody else in?

In my opinion, too many people are lazy, uninspired and need to be told what to do. Sometimes, one person can light the right match to start fires under people's backsides, but really, how often does this happen? Good intentions does not equal a good plan, a effective implementation, or the participation of others. If it did, I would have eradicated child abuse years ago.
It does take one, but that one is a lucky, dynamic or otherwise gifted one with help.
You want to start a revolution? Start it in your own mind and heart first. Be specific: what do you believe? what actions can you take to promote what you believe?
Live what you want and what you believe first, then teach it.

I'm older than you, and have paid attention, that's all.

Really? I hope that is not the case.

Oh, and I worked for Congress way back when and the letters are briefly examined, the way the wind blows is noted. Send your emails.

i think the main problem today is we have an endless list of issues and problems to solve and instead of solving one problem before we move to the next we just try to take care of part of all our problems and or issues and so nothing ever really gets solved.
i think if it were up to obama he could have changed alot of things by now but thats not the way it works he has to compromise with the opposite side and since he is only one man he is at the mercy of the people standing behind him if they dont want things to change they wont change and it doesnt matter whos elected for president

Half of life is just showing up. The other half is paying attention. The third half (with thanks to Click and Clack) is knowing how to take advantage of things that happen when you're paying attention.

as i agree with everyone, the only reason why america isnt standing up and FIGHTING by whatever means necessary to get the change needed is that they are all not ready nor willing to give up what they have to fight and gain everything they should have.

This means quitting work, letting go of your possessions and FIGHT.

Of course it's not the case. He's on Front Range 4x4 now.

And, Zach, when I was your age, I was a smart-mouth who got his butt kicked regularly. So quiet ain't so bad. You learn more by listening than by talking. That's probably why I still have a lot to learn.

    First, however

We should rid the world of Capitalism,
Buisness should be run as a Democracy,

We should fix our government and move it away from the Plutocracy that it is quickly becoming
We need to fix so many things.
Yet, nobody is really willing. Theres too many closeminded people to allow changes to happen.
    It's saddening

I think we should all solve our own problems first and thus have a good society of productive people with fewer problems. Maybe raise children with kindness and teach them empathy and other positive ways of being, by example? Pipe dream, I know.

I have to disagree. My two words? Bad Parenting

Where do you think it comes from and who allows it? Sure, there are some parents who would be mortified to find their own offspring were being mean and ugly. I would be, then I would come down on my offspring like a ton of bricks for participating in bad behavior to others, or standing by and letting it happen.

When you get older and have kids, it is your job to keep them from being the ones who are d-bags.

It makes it harder to be a good parent when theres so many other kids, that are bad influences.
Some kids, no matter how well they we're parented.
Are just corrupted by outside forces.

Parenting isn't the only issue here.

But of course. I grew up in a place where almost everykid had a bad parent or was in a bad situation. It was known for being one of the highest areas for meth in the US

    Not sure if it still is or not. But most kids had bad parents. So I wouldn't know much about it. /;

No, it isn't the only issue but it is a big issue. You are the product of your genes and your environment. People mimic what they know and see around them, and some rise above. Those who rise above have that spark in them or have a good example outside their immediate circle, so I have seen.

Yes, some do succumb to what you are calling bad influences, like meth. That I can't comment on as it brings in a whole new can of worms: addiction.

    Where did you come from?

    Joplin, Missouri.

Jasper and Newton county, used to be the highest rated for meth. It's saddening.

I like to think I've risen above most.
