Thats a rare one!

This is of the 1x that I had the top off my Patrol to go wheeling with it. I have had other Patrols without tops, just never this one.
I also sold a Patrol hardtop. Took it to a depot to ship it out. Only option to get it there was upside down on my POS 91 Ford Escort. The roof was the only part of the car without a major dent in it.
My very first 4x4!
1984 Subaru Brat. 1.8L 4 speed. T-tops, rear jump seats from factory. I installed the front push bumper, roll bar, lights, junkyard Subaru alloy wheels, and rear tube bumper.
I used to work 12 1/2 hour shifts only 3 nights a week. Only 36 hours on the clock, but it was "full time" and full benefits. I sorta miss that.
My 66 CJ-6 that I drove for about a year.
I really like the cj-6 and your Patrol. That subaru, wow, no clearance
The Jeep just wasn't practical at all. It cruised OK at highway speeds, but the low gearing just didn't exist. Also, not much power from the V6. The axles were the original narrow axles and it was SOA and shackle reversal on soft springs. Swayed a LOT on corners.
The Patrol isn't practical at all as a daily driver. Sucks fuel, no cruising speed, COLD, etc. It is a great 4x4 though and tons of fun to drive.
The Brat was a cool rig. Lots of "utility" with the rear seats and the truck bed. A great DD and did OK offroad. It was nimble and could clear more obstacles than you would think! John can attest to how well the Subaru can do! Just a completely different driving style.
My 1986 Toyota "Custom Cab". Unique rig, but more like driving a school bus! 4x4 was useless except on snowy roads. Would liked to have kept it, but no real purpose/need to justify it.
My 1990 4Runner. Glad that I had this rig. It was my first Toyota. I did all the mods to it after buying it from the original owner in 2001. Got me hooked, but I preferred the earlier 4Runner body style. Simply quit driving it after I got my 1987. Again, just not enough driveway/need to keep everything. :(
Dude I think your custom cab is down here now.. Not to far from pikes peak rovers. To bad you don't have the brat anymore
The Custom Cab went to a guy in Berthoud. He was gonna rebuild it. It was his 4th or 5th Toyota, so he was totally nuts over this. I have seen a couple dozen of these over the years. Quite possible it is a similar truck. It was before its time really. Small truck that seats 5 with a short bed. Similar to the quad cab Tacoma's now.
Wow, good memory. A guy in GJ ended up buying it. Super nice guy. I actually bought the HD torsion bars back from him and put them in my 87 4Runner. He put on a full kit from Total Chaos. Haven't seen it, but should be a really cool rig now!
Pretty Gnarly Yota and that 66 CJ-6 looks pretty cherry if you ask me
