My Volvo is alive!!!
Background story on this car.
Around a year or so ago I received a call from Jamie out of the blue. He said he had a friend looking at 2 cars, both diesels, that had been left in a field for many years and asked if he could give my number to his buddy. A little later his buddy calls and we set up a time to go work/look at them. The 2 cars are a 79 Mercedes 300 D and a 80 Volvo 264. I managed to get the Mercedes running in about 20 min of work. So Jamie's friend was excited and talked to the owner. Next I am helping tow 2 cars out of a field. Because I helped get the Mercedes running he gave me the Volvo.. WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO. So a year goes by and I had time to work on it and asked if Jamie and the guy who gave it to me wouldn't mind helping me out a little. So yesterday I drove up to Jons where the Volvo was stored and picked it up. I even managed to do a little snow wheeling. Everything we needed was in the snow drifts, roughly calf - knee high and hard packed.
So after spending roughly 3 hours getting the Volvo hooked up it was off to Jamie's house, stash the car in his garage (THANKS AGAIN JAMIE) and go find a battery and other needed items.
I arrived back at Jamie's around 4.... Started to work on the car and around 7:45 with a help from Jamie, Tony and Paul(I really appreciate it and owe you all)it is now running!
What is crazy is that the car has sat in the field we pulled it from for no less than 13 years...... Last registration was in early 1996. The car has only 73,606 miles on it for a diesel that is nothing! I am excited like you wouldn't believe
