i was in kansas city yesterday and at eastwood trafficway in kc was a gas station i deliverd to and here is what it showed and the most expensive place i deliverd was $2.78 a gallon why so high here?

Yeah it's crazy here, but a few miles south of my house is 2.97 a few miles north is 3.18. I really don't get it!
Because we get to pay more, there is no more reason than that.

Ive been told that the gas out here is oxenageted (sp) wich costs money, which means "we" get to pay for that...
It is higher yet on both the east and west coasts. On a couple of islands we checked out going to in December, prices for gas varied from below $2.00 to over $6.00...and these were mostly for liters of gas..
I can't answer why...
I'm sure the oil companies or our favorite state rep. could tell us why....
According to my uncle, who retired from the Flyiing J refinery in Salt Lake, we pay it because we have to and the oil companies know it.
