    Default 22-RE question



    does anyone know if you can replace the valve stems on the 22-RE head, or am i just hosed? i have managed to break one off as shown...

    yes but you have the heat up the entire head in an oven, to about 500 deg.
    then take an air hammer with the correct bit and drive them out. After that is complete you have to drive the new guides in with lube before the head decreases in heat....My suggestion is take it to a machine shop.

    thanks for the info RLMS! and yeah i will send it off, might have them do a few more things while it's there... any idea of what might cause this?
