Argentine Pass/McClelland Mtn 6-8-24
We last minute decided to go to Guanella Pass today and check out Waldorf. The trail is clear and open to Waldorf but the snow takes over there. Broke through some snow on Argentine right at Waldorf and then turned around to see how far we could make it toward Santiago mine and McClelland. 248.2C has some pretty nice snow that I would have tried a bit harder had I had a second vehicle but there is still a lot of melting that needs to happen for it to be considered passable. 2481 becomes impassable just past turn off for 248.2C. Broke some new ground on both of those also before turning around and heading back down. Would figure it to be close to a month before the top of the divide is reachable. Did first recovery with Jeep already on only 2nd time on the trails. Had a side by side that put the transmission in park on a steep hill and could not get it out of park. Winched him down to flat ground and he was able to shift and go.
