    Default Saturday run 4/13

    I don't know where I'm going, exactly. I don't know how I'll get there. I hope I don't get lost. I hope I don't get stuck.

Any takers on wheeling Northern Colorado this weekend? Below is a list of trails I've complied which Trails Offroad does NOT say are "closed".

Sunny and almost 80, that means I'm in the mountains baby!!! Well, maybe not in the mountains but certainly away from home and out exploring.

    North:

    silver creek road

    crown point road/pingree park road

    Camaan Springs Road

    Buckhorn Road

    Deadman Road

    Pearl Beaver Road

    Peterson Lake Road

    Laramie River Valley Road

    Rocky Beaver

    FR 156C

    Little Bald

Twin Laks Spur - B17 crash

    Twin Lakes

    Comanche

    Cherokee Park Road

    Turkey Roost

    Cave Creek

    Knob Hill

Maybe / most likely? If you don't mind risking my less-than-perfect front spindles / wheel bearings issue.

I'd be game for anything. There's also Pawnee Grasslands.

This looks like a cool area that's different than the usual. I imagine its open all year and would be a fun place to explore when the rest of trails are snowed in.

My official plan is Peewink Mountain, departure from the trailhead at 10am. Drop a message here so I know if I should wait for you. I've been spamming everywhere and apparently I'm not a very fun person, it's just me so far. oh well

If you don't hear from me in 6 months, I'm dead on Peewink, first come first served to have my Jeep that's stuck.

FYI Peewink is an extremely easy very short run.

Good! Then I shouldn’t have any problems in my Toyota Corolla! 😁

Good question! I've never been here either, I like new experiences.

I'm not able to post screen shots, error message saying my post exceeds max characters. Peewink is just South of Sugarloaf Mountain which shares a Southern intersection with Switzerland. I'm certain you know where Switzerland is.

After completing Peewink (having lunch, maybe a wood fire, relaxing in a chair and enjoying the company (if other people tolerate me and come along)) I plan to go to "Matchless" (North side of the loop), up to Gordon Gulch, up to Sugarloaf Mountain Road, then out. I hear Sugarloaf is "impassible" for a stock Wrangler based on TrailsOffroad as of 1/20/24. Not sure how it looks now but I think it's worth the try for the adventure.

Sounds like I'm bringing the wife and dog along.

My wife is friends with the wife of the son of the guy who runs the Off Camber 4x4 club and shop in Windsor. The wife and her husband are coming over for dinner tomorrow and I plan on asking if they want to go out. I met him on 4x4 day and he's a nice guy.

I have a feeling this is going to be a snow recovery day, maybe use the winch. Matter of fact, the same winch that you taught me how to use and respool, I think that was on Kelly Flats.
