Shrine Pass McCallister Gulch trail run report 8/19/23

Perfect day with perfect weather. I counted ,maybe 10 raindrops on my windshield all day. Jackie, her daughter and husband, and Isak and his wife were with. Just 3 vehicles.

The gate the Jim shared a photo of had been replaced as well as the signs. It now says open to full size vehicle in2 places. So we took it and did the original route I put on the first map I shared.

Couple shots of Mt Holy Cross and our aprs track. Didn’t get it set up quite right to start so the pale blue section with the arrow wasn’t tracked.

We got so lucky with the weather today! Shrine Pass reminded me a lot of MSV, but even more rocky. Camp Hale was a blast with all the whoop-de-doos and the views from the top were amazing. Thanks for a another great trail run, Tom! Good to see you again Isac and it was nice to meet Brittany too!

I'll want to check out those trails - specifically the one that had been closed.

Awesome day on the trail and beautiful scenery! I think running McAllister in the normal direction would be a lot tougher since we hit some pretty steep and bouldery sections on the way down that had me sliding in a couple spots. Would be fun to try another time.
