Apex Road - Thurs 7/13

Anyone interested in exploring the apex road area? I was up there yesterday and discovered some new and fun roads. The starting point is less than an hour from Denver. I'm thinking of starting about 10:00 AM from Blackhawk.

There is a very cool old shaft house up there that is worth seeing, I follow Tom in this he can show you where it is. Shafthouse @17:30. In the vicinity is an old dumpsite too, cans and bottles and such.

So I did some searching.
411 is basically Gamble Gulch and its spurs.
413 is Jenny Lind / Perigo

Perigo is a mining ghost town in the area. Never been there.

Perigo is extremely tight between trees, I’ve done it once. 411 are gamble gulch connector trails that take you up to Dakota hill and the 412 trails are all Dakota hill spurs, some steep up and downhill trails with nice views. It’s a fun area to explore. The other side of Apex has Mosquito creek trail that takes you to Miners gulch, a very fun but all too short challenging creek climb that takes you up to Yankee hill.
