    Default Lifted my Jeep

Wasn’t planning on lifting it but couldn’t resist. Had the MetalCloak 3.5” Gamechanger suspension installed along with their steering upgrade and their rock sliders. Also got a new front driveshaft since this lift and shocks have so much flex that a new driveshaft was required. Finished it off with a Genright rear aluminum bumper. Took it out yesterday for a shakedown run and it performed amazing….. except the front driveshaft touched my oil pan skid plate so I removed it on the trail (more invested into the lift than a skid plate).
Here’s a few pics from yesterday…. Can’t wait to really test it the next time I go out!!!

    Yep, looks good!

A lot of change tended with this batch. So, are you calling it "complete"? What's left?

So are those still 35s or did you go to 37s? I'm literally 2-3 hours from ordering a lift and I've been going back and forth between 2.5" or 3.5" Clayton Overland + kit. If I go 3.5", I'm concerned I'll have issues with the front drive shaft if I don't get a new one. I understand 2.5" I'll be okay, even though I get about 3" of lift from this kit. I'm running true 37s now. My cousin is coming to help me install the kit mid-March. I was 100% convinced I'm going 2.5" but now I'm thinking maybe I should go 3.5"..... ugh, this is driving me crazy. It's been 7-8 months that I've been going back and forth now.

I put 37” KM3’s on when it was still stock and wheeled it for a while last summer up until last week when I had the 3.5” lift installed. Things to consider with the front driveshaft is the extended shock length. The longer the extended shock the more likely it’ll touch the front driveshaft when dropping. Ask Clayton what shocks they suggest and if you’ll need a new driveshaft with the lift and shocks. MetalCloak has the Rocksport shocks and they are the longest extended shock you can get so that’s why they require a new front driveshaft even with their 2.5” lift (shock length is the key factor here).

Gotcha, yeah, I read the same thing you're saying here. I'm planning on going with the Fox 2.0 with remote reservoir for 2-3" lift from Accutune. I'll reach out to Clayton and ask. Thanks Matt!! What I like about the 3.5" is greater up travel before hitting the bump stops.

Also, those were the rims I wanted, I love em! Black Rhino Calico. They weren't on sale (or not on sale enough) this past Black Friday. Ended up with the Icon Rebounds, they're still nice.

I think I just went back to the 2.5" and remembered why I settled on it. I figured, this Jeep was ridiculously capable stock, 2.5" lift and 37s will be more than enough for my needs. Wait a minute, typing that out just made me think of something else too actually. I also said, "well, if I buy the 4Runner, I'll definitely have to get like a 4" lift and 33s. If I buy the Rubicon, it will already have 12.9" of ground clearance (4Runner was like 9") and 33s. I'll also have front lockers too. I won't need to do a single thing to the Jeep!"

How did that work out you ask? Well, $9900 later.... it will NOW be good, I won't have to do anything else to the Jeep.... Ouch, I just added that up and can't believe I spent almost $10k for aftermarket stuff! At least I was able to sell the OEM wheels for $700....

    Diode Dynamics Headlights $800
    Wheels $3000
    Bumpers $1400
    Winch $800
    Lift $3900

I’ve spent well over $10k on bumpers, lift, steering, sliders, etc. I still have my stock wheels from my first 2021 Rubicon and I also have the stock wheels from my Xtreme Recon (Max texted me that he was interested in these). It’s just money 🤷🏽*♂️

Jeeps lookin good. the shocks should not be what stops the drop of axle or you will be ripping apart shocks. Get a set of limiting straps and set it so they stop the axle droop where you want it. You can even set it so you can get oil pan skid back on.

Yes they sure will be destroyed. I know from personal experience with the first cheap ass lift I had. Straps helped. If I still have em somewhere I wil let you know.

Well, I just pulled the trigger. 2.5" Clayton with Accutune Fox 2.0 remote reservoir. Lift is supposed to be here this Saturday and the shocks are about a week while they do the tune. My install will be Friday, March 17.... if anyone wants to come party....

We just updated it to Saturday, March 18 instead to accommodate my brother-in-law. If anyone's interested, let me know. I'll be making some sort of lunch, I'm thinking pork carnitas tacos, easy to make.
