    Default Battery Switch

Anyone have one of these in a Jeep? I'm thinking of adding one to mine but am not sure of the best mounting location. Thanks!!

How are you using it? Battery disconnect for long periods of not using? Emergency off in case of a rollover? Isolation for a like load like a winch? Manual dual battery tie in???

I only use my Jeep for fun stuff so in between I want to shut it down. Possibly for a rollover or less pressing work, and as an inconvenience to thieves if I park it somewhere overnight. Along the inconvenience line I was thinking about buying the type of switch that has a removeable key and stashing a spare key inside the rollbar padding. Yes, I have one. It works well. I stuffed the internals with dielectric grease to keep it happy.

Check my build thread for how I used it: https://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums...785#post343785

I've looked into one on various occasions for various reasons....when it comes to high quality electrical stuff that will flow high amps (like a switch in the winch power supply), Cole-Hersee is the go to brand:

Good idea using the grease, I will do the same. I'm going to switch the negative terminal, just need to figure out where to mount it.
