    Default Leadville Area September 11th

Hi everyone, I will be staying in Leadville for the weekend. We are sticking to paved roads on Saturday, but on the 11th I want to head over Weston or somewhere in the area that will have lots of changing aspen trees. Anyone up for an 8-9AM meeting in Leadville then head over to Weston afterwards? Since Weston itself is pretty easy, I am hoping to hit some of the spur roads up there.

I live up here and am not particularly interested in Weston itself, maybe I'd join for some of the trail but I'd definitely join for some other trails nearby.

We have to be back in Denver and I believe Weston has better Aspen tree viewing than Mosquito, so we are going to stick to Weston. Let's get a trip in before winter hits though - lots of great trails in that area

Absolutely, I welcome any company exploring the nearby trails.

FYI I'm a little doubtful that many leaves will be changing around the 11th in September. Even in prior years it was a little later than that, and I heard that it was early then because of how dry it was, and this has been a wet summer. You may see some beginning to turn, at least.

For reference, I did a trail run September 25th of last year near Buena Vista and that seemed to be about the perfect time to see the leaves.

I don't say that to discourage doing the trails since of course it's fun anyway, I just mention it since you mention "lots of changing aspen trees" and that seems a bit early in September to expect that.
