Interesting to watch the breakage, and the reason why it broke. Interesting too that it doesn't get torqued on to a specific number, but the turning resistance is measured instead.

Neat rig. I wonder why it makes a high-pitched whining noise whereas other EVs don't seem to, at least not that I've noticed in videos but I don't have any EV experience.

I have one and it makes a sound up to 19mph or in reverse. I wish I could shut it off, but it's required by law. The newer EVs allow you to customize the sound.

It seems like a benefit of taking an EV off-road would be how quiet they are - helping to enjoy the sounds of the trail and nature. Hopefully newer EVs wouldn't do it in their off-road modes or I'd be inclined to "customize the sound" by disabling/destroying the speakers.
