2022-06-18 Kelly Flats Deadfall Limb Trim

From the Kelly Flats run a week ago I spotted a handful of locations where it'd be good to trim back some deadfall. Weather looked like it wouldn't rain on me today so I went. Traffic on Kelly was light. Three side-by-sides and about five groups of jeeps with 1 to 3 in the pack. A couple sets of motorcycles.

Temps were just a little on the warm side though there was enough breeze to be enjoyed.

Up near the intersection the HAH Bypass was this family crossing the road...

Did you notice any areas on the west end that have been worked on and smoothed out?

I noticed only the one short (40') rocky drop shortly west of the Chutes (Google Map) as being easier and narrower - the left side, heading west, seemed covered with tree debris / off limits. Otherwise, the trail seemed the same as the past couple years.

That's the area I was told about, it was starting to get a little difficult and fun.

The fun level has been notched down.

Last visit with James, we went up/down a couple times - leaning more to the boulderish left side - not this time. Mostly a ho-hum keep driving - no need to even stop for a picture.

From the info I have received it seems like the land owners up there made the changes.
