    Exclamation VW Bug Specialists?

A voice from the past here. Are any of you VW Bug experts? My daughter in Aurora bought a 1969 Bug thas\ts physically in great shape but apparently needs major motor work. Maybe a used motor since she doesn't have an awful lot of cash due to other stuff in her life. She was quoted $2500+ for a rebuild so I'm thinking maybe a used motor would be cheaper.

    Let me know, thanks.

They are no where as prevalent as they used to be so it may be difficult to find a good used engine.

Another thought, if the engine is original to the chassis it might be better to have it rebuilt rather than replace.

Thanks guys, she's going with a rebuild.

Tom, I'm doing fine now but had a bad year that I have put behind me. We moved a couple weeks ago from the Gulf Coast to Atlantic Coast for a number of reasons, one being the inescapable connection between Covid, my bad year, and where we lived during those years. We pretty much just did a life re-set leaving the past behind.

Sorry to hear about your bad year. Hope this year will be better. I had a bad year as well due to health issues not related to covid. Doing somewhat better now.
