Calamity Mesa Loop June 12-15
I have June 12-15 off and I would like to do the Calamity Mesa Loop in the Grand Junction/Gateway area. The Grand Mesa Jeep club rates it as a 5 on the 1-10 scale with a couple of sketchy areas. It is a 16.5 mi. trail that runs aprox. 4 hr. which could be an overnighter or a couple of nights to explore the side trails. Any interest?

I probably need to research the trail a lot more carefully to make a decision. In general I don't want to be out in Grand Junction in mid June because of heat, but this trail is specifically marked as "bring a jacket, higher elevation". Maybe it won't be 105F?

Elevation is why I'm more willing to do it in June, otherwise desert wheeling is out until October.
