    Default Steel Tube Bending

    Hey all,

I was wondering if any members had a steel tube bending rig that I could use, or maybe you could use for me

I'm trying to fabricate some custom rock sliders for my J10. Still coming up with the design. I'm going to attempt to weld it up myself but I think the design will be including bent steel tubing.

    Thanks,
    Ty

I won't have a tubing bender until probably next year. But when I do you're welcome to bend some tube.

In the mean time check out Evil Twin Fab. I had some of their sliders on my old J10 and they were quality pieces. They're a small operation so it's best to message them directly.

Looks like he hung up the hat. Thanks for the suggestion and offer though. Plus I'd like to try this out myself, not just for the cost savings but I'd like to fab up something myself, I think its an important skill to learn for my interests.

I have a JD squared model 2 tubing bender sitting in a box. I have a 1.5" round 4.5" radius die (that needs a $20 replacement part to work), then needs a place to mount it (this is the real clincher).

I haven't used it in near 20 years, but I have it. With a little work, we can get it set-up. It has been on my to-do list.

That would be great. What do you think about welding it to a hitch so it can go in a receiver? Not sure if its too much pressure on a hitch receiver or if its portable enough to be worth hefting up into one, but might be one way to avoid having it take up a permanent spot in a garage space

I'm fresh out of 2x2 square tubing, but it could definitely be made to attach to my Toyota's truck hitch. Should be more than strong enough for 1.5" tube bending.
