I live in Denver with my wife and 2 kids. I ended up buying an old used Hummer H3 last fall, mostly because it was (surprisingly) the cheapest thing with 4-wheel drive available at any of the nearby dealerships, and I needed something that was a little safer to drive in the snow than I'd had so far.
I figured if I was gonna own a Hummer, I should take it off road from time to time, and from there I've really taken to enjoying off-roading as a hobby and my kids really love it as well!
I came across this organization by way of someone posting a link in a comment on the r/ColoradoOffroad/ subreddit. I look forward to meeting everyone, and being able to go out on trails with people who at least know what they're doing more than I do.
Attached is a photo of my vehicle after having come home from Yankee Hill, where I got stuck in a snowdrift and was fortunately (very politely and courteously) taught a lesson about recovery by some helpful gentlemen in a pair of side-by-sides.
