Default Repairing an Arctic Cat UTV on Camoplast T4S tracks

It was brought to my attention that I hadn't posted much in way of any 4x4 builds or fixes as of late. So here is a recent one that the clients were alright with me sharing:

Were recently tasked with an emergency repair to the rear track system on an Arctic Cat UTV. The setup in question are the Camoplast T4S ATV/UTV tracks found here: https://camso.co/en/powersports/atv-...ducts/atv-t4s/ .

The clients managed to get entangled with a large downed tree. And while they managed to get out of that situation, it didn't come without a cost. The passenger side rear axle stabilizer ripped off of it's mount. They managed to limp it back out and onto their trailer, then dropped it off at the shop to see what could be done. Here is how it arrived:

Inspected the extent of the damage

Maneuvered the trailer with UTV attached into the shop with the forklift in order to get to work

Here is a short video looking over the damage:

In the video you may notice that the driver side mount is also starting to fail. The clients chose to address this at a later date.

It was decided the quickest and strongest fix was to remove what was left of the old mount and fabricate a new one from scratch. The old mount wouldn't be able to be perfectly matched since it had some custom stamping done to it, but client was fine with the aesthetic differences as long as it was strong. Dimpled round holes will be used in place of the stamped patterns. These will also offer a bit more rigidity and strength to the mount, and allow water, mud, and other debris to pass through the area without collecting.

Made a template from what was left of the existing mount and cut out the pattern from a slightly thicker material than the factory used. Then marked the reference lines for the bending process and dimpled the thru holes.

Then using the shop built 60 ton finger brake press and an assortment of different dies, the new mounting bracket was bent into shape

    Removed the old, broken mount

Welded the new mount on and clean up the area

The new mount has an extra tab or gusset built into it along the bottom edge. This should provide more strength to the bracket over the stock configuration

Assembled the stabilizer to the new mount

Here is a short video showing the completed repair versus the stock opposite side
