Default Spare tire and accessory mounts for topper cage

I want a topper cage (rack to go above my bed cap) to hold my spare tire and accessories (hi lift jack, maxtrax, etc.). See pic of my truck.

I was looking at Colmin-X topper racks (https://www.colminnxracks.com/index.php), but they don't have any mount options for the side of the topper rack/cage (at least for the maxtrax and other light accessories). I'm thinking I'll have to ask them to do something custom.

There are a lot of bed racks for accessories, but not so much for racks that accommodate a topper. I can't imagine it being easy to get on top of my lifted truck and easily get the spare down safely from atop a topper rack.

Any comments on mounting spare atop a topper rack? Comments on ways to mount recovery boards, jack, etc. on the sides of the topper for easier access? Thanks!

I would look to make sure the cap is rated to handle the weight. Some of those caps can't handle much. Some can. I'd hate to see you go to all the trouble only to have the weight break things.

As I get closer to being an "old fart", the prospect of lifting a tire up that high becomes less appealing. And the wind resistance will drop your gas mileage. But if those things don't bother you, there's no reason not to put it up there.

One alternative to having a spare all the way up there is to have a tire mount in the bed up against the bed rail. That wouldn't be as high up to lift. And it keeps it out of the weather. But if you're going to use all of the bed and don't have room that won't work.

Thanks. I will definitely be getting a rack that mounts to the bed rails (like the topper rack in the colmin-x link) to be able to support the weight.

I even considered a swing-out spare carrier / swing gate (like on the old Broncos), but I don't want to add that length to the vehicle and extra trouble getting into the bed.

To your point, there are a finite number of solutions. I think I've been over most of them. I just wanted to throw it out there to see if there was something I was missing.
