A nice day in the forest today. Some wonderfully snow laden trees, snowfall, deep snow attempts & rejections. A fun day.

The big drifts at the meadow stopped us - the second drift. Ironclads had perhaps four feet of snow at the ledge. Trying a counter-clockwise rotation for ironclads, we were rejected at the left-turn-uphill (typical) area - deep snow.

Fun but short run today, we were denied by the snow. I made it up the ledge after a few tries on Ironclads in the clockwise direction but it got deeper beyond the ledge so we turned back and tried counter-clockwise. Didn't make it too far there either until I hit about 3' 4' of snow. I took a few runs at it but each time only got another car length further and once it got up to my hood I called it and we turned back.

Steve-O and I took turns burying ourselves in a snow drift for fun, I winched Steve-O out, then Jim winched me out. When we ran out of trail the others turned back but I found myself wanting to get a little more trail in so I was thinking of hitting Switzerland, when as luck would have it on the way out I ran into Damien in his built Toyota so we went and played around on Swizerland near gold hill, down by what I thought was an old tractor but Damien correctly identifed as an old air compressor. I don't think Damien is a member, but I know at least a few of your have run with him before, he came out with the club in his old stepside Jeep pickup for the New Years run a few years back.

I was surprised at how quickly I sunk in that section. Still learning where to crawl and where to power through but since that was a section I had already driven over I didn't realize I would sink so quickly. Still so much to learn and having a great time during every minute of class.

One of these days we will actually wheel together. It looks like we enjoy similar conditions but don't end up on the same runs since I usually only hit the trails on the weekends.

James and I ran it on a weekday last summer. I noticed a couple significant changes in the trail - possibly attributed to the rental side-by-side crowds.

The tight zig-zag through the trees - those trees no longer exist. It's now long wheelbase friendly (pickup truck).

The trail is wider with more "pull outs".

Yeah the last time up there I rode with Trent. Was a great time but those side by sides rentals were clueless. They should required to take a etiquette test before renting.
