Default Sunday, December 19th - wheeling in the Peak to Peak area

I'd be up for Miller Rock, Switzerland trail area, Rollinsville/Gamble gulch and west area.... I don't have a winch currently so hoping someone with one wants to go wheeling on Sunday I do have all sorts of other recovery gear, chains for front and rear and even a hand-winch in case I end up having to go solo!

I'm up for anything up and down the Peak to Peak highway

I’m thinking of running around the same general area…. Pickle Gulch, Gamble gulch trails west….. maybe even ascend Mammoth gulch and circle the Apex area hitting trails, depending on snow levels.

Id also be down to run Miller rock if Shane wants, we got a little snow but probably not enough to shut Miller rock down yet.

    Anyone else interested?

Miller Rock is a bit short on it's own, I'd lean towards something with a few more miles or maybe even a little exploring but as long as you're navigating I'm down for whatever in the end.

Agreed, think I’d prefer Pickle gulch and the Rollinsville area trails as there are a lot more miles of trails and options. Late morning start ok Shane? 11am-ish?

I might actually run Ironclads instead to be in a higher traffic area since I’ll be solo. I will post up for sure

I ran Ironclads this morning, nobody else on the trails! They closed the HOV trailer parking area on Hwy 72 that runs west to meet with Bunce and Ironclads, I suspect this closing (and the highway closer) is why the trails were nice and quiet for me this morning. As I pulled into Hwy 7 just a few minutes ago, one SxS trailer was parking (just getting there).
    Had a blast!

Perm or temp closure on the parking area?

Very little snow in your pictures. From your comment of the snow at your house the other day I'd have thought there'd be more.

Glad you enjoyed the time out!

Yes, not as much snow as I have though I don’t have that much more anymore. The steep climb that snows and ices over causing you to slide backwards at a quick pace is not frozen/icy enough to cause an issue yet. It did have some snow and ice but lots of traffic and larger dry rocks to make climbing not an issue. I did have lockers on just in case but didn’t notice any slippage. I have KO2’s with just 2500 miles on them so that helps with grip also. It was a perfect 1-2 hour morning session!
