    Default Mid-week run?

I might be interested to get out for a run later this week - the weather looks good. Any interest? Ran Metberry last week with Louis and Drew and remembered how far and long and bumpy it is to get to the gulches. Shorter day is good, but I would possibly consider a bigger trip to Chinaman gulch. There is probably some stuff up north a bit I haven't run which is always intriguing.

    Put me as curious...

Up north - Kelly Flats is open. Have you been to it yet? I know you oft prefer the more difficult of trail. I can say Red Elephant has some difficulty in the two bouldery sections.

Travelling out of town next week and week after....this is probably my last chance for one more run before the winter. It'll be ski season when I get back in early Nov, and I head to Montana for work soon thereafter. Its not a big deal if I don't get out....just seeing what's going on.

Kelly Flats is on my to do list, but its a heck of a drive north for me - well over 2.5 hrs one way with a lot of highway roading in the old cj. I think I'd probably like to do something a bit closer. I've run REH/MC/BM before, but not this year...earlier this year i was looking to run it again - its a possibility but not a huge favorite either. Kind of the same with Argentine/Mclleland...I haven't run Miller or MSV this year, so those would be options, but again, something new might be more intriguing, even if its easy.

I'm not in for the run, but what about Jenny Creek? Not sure what the snow situation is, but it's a good bouldery route.

Pole Hill / Pierson Park (north or south) / Johnny Park with Button Rock / Rock Creek - they exist between Estes and Miller Rock.

Of note - there's construction (at least was) on South St. Vrain canyon - uncertain if it's open for travel.

We ran that last year, and honestly, not really one I thought was all that fun. Jenny creek was fine, but Rollins is just a brutal bumpy vibrate everything to pieces trail.

It is a bumpy road. My scale was drastically recalibrated after the Maze district trip in May. I don't think Rollins east is bad at all anymore :-)

No doubt there is worse....The 300 miles of it I drove in Mongolia in an old Russian military 'jeep' was a new level of 'rough ride'. Even the 8 miles out of the rubicon to Tahoma is much worse, but its worth it (although you can exit via a different route, Barker Pass, that is way better, but is tight with pinstriping even for a narrow track cj.) IMO, there is nothing up Rollins or Jenny Creek worth even a short section of washboard in the old cj - Rollins is a much better MTB. But I kind of feel the same about the gulches, Yankee Hill area, Kingston, MSV, Argentine, Bill Moore from Empire....I know these are popular, and maybe I've just run them too many times, or maybe I just want a bit more jeep challenge...? I also much prefer to run washboard in the Tacoma - we did over 100 miles of it in Escalante back in March - turn up the radio, and push down the pedal - I think that is where I lost some of the plastic body mount push-pin things, and I swear I used to have a hide-a-key box under there as well, but it was missing the other day when I needed it). But in the old cj, it literally breaks anything mounted to the body, or worse, cracks the the body panel around the mount.

thanks - a bit too late to figure it out for me today...I usually need to know the day before. Looks like Fri is really my main option at this point, but tomorrow (Thurs) could work if I know early enough, otherwise planning to help my father do some seasonal yard/house work etc.

Since you have never run I would vote yes, I am a little biased though.
