Arrange it with the seller - $50 for an "around the block" rental with an option to buy - schedule a romantic getaway weekend in the town near it and take Jen for a spin in the old truck while you're "in the neighborhood".

It'll be 50/50 - you'll either have a comfortable bed to sleep in when you get home - or you'll be sleeping in the truck when you get home.
