Would love to join but unfortunately cannot get away.

Just an fyi. The circled are in red is a really neat side track that leads to a beautiful camp site and amazing waterfall and pool. Have camped there a couple of times, the latest in the early 1980's. It goes around a little shelf and just after the shelf is a small meadow on the right, which is the camp site. Falls are at the upper end of the meadow. Taking at most 1/2 hr each way. Assuming it has not been trashed since I was there last its well worth the side trip.

I believe it is nfsr 738.2B. 400 is the hiking trail that connects.

Thereís a ton of dispersed camping at the beginning of this trail, incredible spots throughout the first 5 miles or so (picture of one amazing spot I hung out at last time). So, any of you folks that want to camp out for a night or two near Aspen and run this trail, I highly encourage it 😁

Me and the wife head to Aspen on Tuesday. Iím going to exit I70 before Vail pass and run Shrine pass west to Red Cliff and then Independence pass to Aspen. On Wednesday itís my 50th birthday and we will drive to Marble and then run the jeep road to Crystal city and hopefully do the loop back to Marble. It should be a mellow but very scenic day!
Then on Thursday Iím running Pearl pass and Montezuma basin.
Canít wait, Iíll post a trip report afterwards!
