Default A few nights near Ouray, Oct 7-10 2021

Looking at 3 nights - Oct 7, 8, and 9 - to explore near Ouray. This is the extent of my planning so far. I expect to camp out of the Jeep, but I haven't researched camping in the area yet. Hoping for easy access dispersed camping, but if this is not a possibility I'll need to quickly look into reservations at a campsite or other lodging.

No. Likely more of the stuff south/west of Telluride towards Lake City. Imogene was closed when we were there last year, so I haven't run it yet. We crammed a ton of trails into one day last year:

    Black Bear
    Ophir
    Red Mountain Mining Area
    Corkscrew Gulch
    Poughkeepsie Gulch
    Mineral Creek

    Low maybe for me.

Resources that might help - from my last visit...

Dispersed camping - this is the spot we used for two nights. Highway noise but it wasn't crazy as traffic quiets down at night.

The paid campground I'd look at staying at on my next visit to the area:

Public washrooms / toilets in Ouray (with close at hand parking):

This spot is in the same area as the first one Jim posted. Coordinates; 37°55'26.3"N 107°40'29.7"Whttps://goo.gl/maps/pGrQE27z2JGG1gRf9

( By Ironton but up the old Corkscrew pass trail) there is room for a couple rigs there, it is a little further away from all the noise and is rather secluded. I have also lead a group a little further southeast where the two routes merge back together.

This seems useful as October approaches: https://soajeep.com/trail-maps-conditions/

I'm going to spend some time this weekend planning a bit more on this.
