    Unhappy New Tires Tomorrow

Can’t afford anything fancy and even if I could I would be wasting money on dry rot as I am only driving my jeep about 3k a year now that I am retired. My Cooper Discoverers lasted over 50k since 2014.

I’ve heard nothing but great things, lighter than most, pretty quiet and good on road manners. Once i wear through these duratracs and move up to 33 I’ll likely be getting these. Super affordable yet great all around performers

I don’t think so. Not without lockers. Not open open.

Sure, but most lockers can be activated from within the cab via a switch. Once I can shoot my winch line out like a grappling hook with an in-cab control, I'll be really excited to use it on the trail.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I volunteer to help Trent add a Batmobile grappling hook gun to his Jeep.

That would be sweet but I would like an automatic return to spool as well.

That's why it needs to be batman style, launch, dig in, reel in. There has much written on this subject by the experts at DC Comics.

I am sure Jim or Shane or I would volunteer to pull your cable and hook it to the anchor point....you just have to operate the remote from in the cab...When I was there a couple weeks ago, I jumped right out with a tree strap and clevis...each jeep gave it one or two goes, then I pulled the cable 20' to the clevis, the drivers operated their winches from in the cab, I unhooked the cable and helped them spool it the rest of the way in and off they went. We got six jeeps up the gatekeeper in under 20 min that way (all needed a winch, even those with dual lockers)...and of course, that was after the first guy attempted it and smashed the rear differential cover that then took well over an hour of repair before we could move forward.

So I did the old chalk test to determine what the correct tire pressure will need to be for these tires. Apparently they have a bit of a stiffer sidewall than my previous Coopers(Discoverer ATPs). I had the ATPs set at 33 psi and they wore extremely evenly. I needed to set these down to 29 to show even coverage on the chalk. Anything higher and the center caulk wore off leaving the sides still covered.

I wonder if the sidewalls will soften up after a couple of trails.
