Need to get on a trail this weekend....

I had a horrible week, my brand new Jeep went in for lift, winch, wheels/tires, some skid plates.... basic stuff. Came out looking great but throwing codes and now in limp mode and going to be towed to dealership to investigate. Not getting into the details until things are fixed and resolved, but super not happy that I cannot even use my new and built Jeep for the second weekend after getting outfitted for wheeling'

Luckily for me, I still have a nicely built TJ and my loved and trusted Powerwagon. I decided to keep the TJ for now since the JL is full of problems at the moment and I don't trust it to pickup some milk at the corner grocery shop (yesterday it went into limp mode every few hundred feet and is un-drivable in its current state).

So, I need to get out to the mountains and wheel this weekend! I'd be up for an early morning MSV/Coney Flats (to avoid crowds), Kinston Peak, Miners gulch (for the TJ) would be fun along with other Rollinsville area trails........

Anyone up for some wheeling' up off the Peak-to-Peak highway? I'm up for either day, prefer early to avoid people or late afternoon run would be cool also!

Might be camping Sat night down near Leadville if we join the Clohesy Lake run. I imagine the power wagon would be just fine for a night of camping on that trail.

If I don't end up going to Leadville, some of the trails you mentioned would be good.

Yea maybe we start around 5 and finish in the dark? I’ll see which day works best for me and let you know. It’s been raining up here all day, and on and off the last few days. The water is going to be deep and the wildflowers are amazing right now! I’m undecided wether I want to drive the Powerwagon or the TJ

Posted this and haven’t dedided wether to take the Powerwagon or TJ. Maybe if I’m really really lucky, the shop in Fort Collins will fix my new Jeep by the weekend….. crossing fingers but not holding my breath. It’s ready for wheelin but needs to be sorted out big time

I like those Grabbers. Whatever you bring will be fine, all your vehicles are beasts. This is one of my favorite trails on the frontrange, I'm looking forward to it.

I remember a couple of years ago these guys stacked a couple of hundred rocks at the gatekeeper to get through.

Yes this is one of my favorite trails also. I anticipate there will be a lot of water crossings and the lake will be the deepest Ive seen in years (based on all the rain we’ve been getting). I’m looking forward to this!
