Default Replacement Rear Seat Advice? Samurai Jimny

My Jimny came without any rear seat but I'd like add one.

The Corbeau "fold and tumble" seat and bracket seem to be the best (only?) option. I would like the ability to roll them forward for the little extra space when not in use rather than do "fixed mount".

Leaning towards the Neoprene for comfort and cleanup but it's the most expensive. Vinyl = sweaty. Vinyl & Cloth = ??

    Yea, Nay, Any Advice?

    Thanks!

Seat material is really personal preference...I don't like neoprene as its worse than vinyl for sweatiness IMO. Fold and tumble seat is a good way to go if you know you want a rear seat quite often. But, do you really need one? With an old small cj5, I found removing the rear seat permanently worked for me....I never have rear seat passengers and the cargo space is invaluable. I did this in both my previous cj7 and also YJ wrangler, although the f&t rear seat in the YJ worked pretty well. I don't even have a backseat sitting around now, but for the previous jeeps, I kept the rear seat in the basement, and in the rare case I needed it, it was only 4 bolts to install. If you know you need the backseat (kids e.g.) then an f&t is pretty good way to go, but if not, you might try running without it for a while and see if you really need it.

I hated the neoprene covers that were on my Jeep seats when I bought the Jeep. They were extremely sweaty and warm.

They are probably the cheapest and easiest seat heaters you can install!

Good advice, thanks for the insight. I'll drive it a while and see if the extra expense is really worth it.

    Appreciate it!

The vinyl in my YJ might be my favorite seat material of any vehicle I've ever owned (of course it's also "vented" from all the rips ). I used to live in an apartment so had nowhere to put the backseat. Now that I have a garage, both YJ and TJ back seats live there

Before you know it, James will find a steel drawer to put into the back of your Jimny - thought of a rear seat shall disappear out the window (I sold my rear seat a year or two ago).

With the jeep sitting outside, I do leave the trunk loaded with stuff - and lock it. This makes loading for a trail run a bit quicker.

Trent, your old rear seat cover has been torn up by my cats, it's on my rear seat in my basement and they sleep on it. The cover is trashed, the seat is fine.

I love that big rear door on the Suzuki!

i'm reminded of that guy we wheeled with who had the right side steering wheel, think it was a converted old USPS jeep and all the spotters just kept joking about yelling passenger vs driver

That was one of the reasons I was ok with a tin-top, nice to be able to lock it and go...
