Pole Hill & N. Pierson Park Thurs 24th Report

Nice day to b out. Cool with a little rain. Both Bob and Dave made the run. We did Pole Hill and N. Pierson with all three of us. Then Dave and I came back down via Johnny Park. FYI the lower gate off the hwy 36 entrance is still locked. We were heading out that way when some people coming up told us of the issue. They had driven all the way down and had to turn around.

A comfortable day with some cloud cover, and a rain shower was refreshing. It was good to meet Tom and Dave, and thanks again to Tom for leading the run and for the use of his FRS radio. The trails were fun and the worst Pole Hill obstacles were readily traversed in the G.C., with some spots. I snapped one photo, below.

That lower section is technically Button Rock. I think the new FS person didn't know about the lower gate. He has been notified but obviously hasn't done anything about it.
