Kelly Flats planned opening date?

Kelly flats typically opens this time of year (around May 15). Does anyone know if it is opening soon? This weekend maybe?

AllTrails lists this number for conditions:
"For current conditions call Canyon Lakes Ranger District (970) 295-6700"

I thought I had read that it was closed due to the cameron fire. Could be wrong though. Looking at the fs map perhaps just the far west end.

Kelly flats is listed as still closed for the season, the number I posted earlier just gives this website to check road closures (what I'm linking to is Canyon Lakes subsection which includes Kelly Flats):

Newracer usually knows what's going on with that trail. I was hoping he'd see the thread and comment sometime. He is a member of the club that sponsors the trail or knows the club that does.

My club, Larimer County Four Wheel Drive Club, adopts Kelly Flats as well as Moody, Sevenmile Creek, Ballard, and Greer. I am the current president.

Kelly Flats is not in the fire closure area and from what I have heard only the very west end burned. We typically run it with the FS the weekend before Memorial Day weekend to check conditions, perform maintenance needed, and pick up trash. After that if it's not too muddy or if no more work is needed the FS opens it. Our contact with the FS took another position so we have a new contact this year. Unfortunately he has not yet responded to my emails to schedule the work or even get any details. Considering all the recent precipitation I doubt it is dried out enough to open.

Any updates on Kelly flats? I drove past the trailhead on my way up to Walden yesterday and noticed the gate up the trail from the parking area was open. When I passed the trailhead a couple weeks ago the gate was closed.

I forgot to post I did finally get a response from the FS. Hopefully we can get working on the roads damaged from the fire and get them open.

I found out that the lock on the east gate was cut and the person was actually caught and ticketed. Also found out that the road is in great condition so it should officially open very soon.

Just got word from the FS that it should open in the next few days.

Awesome, thanks. Would like to get up there to run the trail soon and maybe camp for a night or two nearby.
