Buena Vista - Fourmile trails Saturday 5/1

Let's check out the Fourmile trails around Buena Vista! According to Trailsoffroad.com, it looks like they're mostly easy-low moderate trails.
It's my first time on those trails and I've got the .gpx tracks - if anyone has any favorites or wants to go any particular way they're welcome to lead, otherwise I'll just pick one to start with. The only one I don't want to do is Bald Mountain Loop since it looks kind of narrow shelfy.

If we're all coming down from the north it would be a lot easier to meet at either 311 or Windmill Drive, depending on what you want to go to. There is a large parking area right off 285 on 311 with a kiosk, and the start of Windmill drive has a large area too that does not allow parking, but airing down and moving on has never been a problem.

I’d be up for going Saturday also. Seems like a nice safe run to see how my new rig does off-road.

Planning to join but prefer to not drive all the way into BV to meet up if we could meet on the trail or at a trailhead instead.

I assume I'm the odd one out coming from the northwest, so if anyone or everyone wants to meet at the "trailhead", we'll probably get there around 10:50ish. I was thinking of heading south from this area towards what Trailsoffroad calls "Black Dumps" and/or "Aspen Ridge". It looks like around here you can park off to the side from what I'm seeing on Satellite view. I'll be listening out on CB channel 4 as well.

Would y'all be okay with postponing this until Saturday 5/8?

After scheduling an appointment about a week in advance, I dropped off my rig at the mechanic this morning to have some longer leaf spring shackles installed, and they said they'd try to get to them when they can. I asked if they could have it done before this weekend and they said they'd try their best - not exactly reassuring. This was quoted at a 3 hour job including an alignment so I was not expecting it to be there potentially over 3 business days.

I've used this mechanic several times before and they've always completed small jobs in the same day, so this caught me pretty off-guard.

I also have been down there previously, and can get there again when I desire. Not a big dealmto cancel/postpone.

I'm not available for a run here on the 8th either. However, if you need to cancel or reschedule because your rig isn't available, it doesn't seem that it matters what I can do. I'm fine not running down at fourmile this weekend -- I've been there many times and I'll be there again in the future. It's a long drive for me so I don't feel any need to force the issue.

I'd really like to go this Saturday, so I'll call my mechanic and let them know that I need it back Friday whether it has the new shackles on or not, and deal with that later. Keep an eye on here just in case but I shall do my best to make this happen.

Sorry for the confusion, everyone.

My mechanic just called and they've got the new shackles on and I'm about to go pick it up. Dunno why they were so pessimistic about the timeframe earlier when I dropped it off.

So, for anyone that still wants to go, we're still on for this Saturday at the original time and place.

If we don't get any yes responses by later today then I'll cancel - I don't wheel alone anymore for safety reasons.
