Life is just better in 4-Low!
thanks for sharing, recently picked up some gator-jaw soft shackles and a kinetic rope
I know we shouldn't reach for the kinetic ropes first for safety reasons, but let's be honest, they are pretty much the most fun method of getting someone unstuck.
Interesting, I had seen the opposite, that you should use traction boards or a winch first as the kinetic ropes build much more kinetic energy and have a higher chance of damaging something/someone. I tend to use them first though because I like using them.
Tow strap is for moving a vehicle a distance. Kinetic is for recovery. I use a dock line for recovery which is what the kinetic ropes were originally for. I worked on a 52' sailboat that went from Miami to Bimini and when they bought it they changed the brand new ropes from black to blue. I took the bowline, it's a 1" double braid with an eye at one end, designed to take constant shock loads 24/7 from a yacht. Oddly, Bubba ropes is out of Miami... I use the eye on one end, and either tie a bowline or a keyed clove hitch on the free end.
Same, except I learned for recovery reach for a kinetic rope after traction boards and winch.
