Default 2021-02-02 (Tues) Cherokee Park - Deadfall Clearing

From the Check-In thread, some might know I was out clearing deadfall today. It was a nice day to be out in the forest.

My thanks to those who took notice and could have started a ball rolling for help should I not have checked in when expected.

Not much for pictures - just a bunch of before/after shots of the work tended.

One nice tidbit from the Saturday visit - the first canyon uphill - maintenance crews were out taking care of the washboard - sweet!

Some highlight photos here with a full set at this link:

    The big mess!

    You're welcome.

I enjoy doing it as it's a win-win type of thing.

The classic "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys" applies - it's a nice use of the toys. That tied with being out in the woods for a day - enjoyable. While I don't have gas engine chain saw noise, I do have jeep motor noise - there is no silence as work is tended. At past day-long chain saw events I'd run the jeep at a high idle (more noise). Today I left it at idle (heater was off / not needed) - no low battery issues.

If anyone encounters trails with deadfall issues - let me know!

`that Verizon towers could be reached - I found odd. Unknown if it was from the Deadman Lookout Tower (~6 miles) or the Laramie / I-80 area (~30 miles)
