Hey everyone, I'm new here. And yes, Dehru is actually my name. It's pronounced Day-roo. I also answer to Hey-You! When we meet in person I'll tell you the full story.
Last February, an accident totaled my 2015 Nissan Leaf . With the insurance payoff, I put together a down-payment on a used 2017 Tacoma Off-road! With the sole purpose of getting back-country for some real camping with the family away from the front-rage crowds...so sick of fighting for camping spots. When Covid hit the following month, it was the perfect storm. Last year, my family did a bunch of road ( off-road ) trips and camping. Modano pass ( Great Sand Dunes ), Aspen Ridge ( Salida/Buena Vista ), Stony Pass ( Silverton ), Ophir Pass ( Telluride ), Immogene Pass ( Ouray ), Kingston Peak ( Gilpen ), as well as some Boulder county day trips like Switzerland trail, Jonny Park, Pole Hill, and Pierson Park South.
And for the first time since my teenage years, i actually LOVE the vehicle I drive. It's no longer just a way to get too-and-from work. And I've started moding. I've added a front pumper, winch, rock sliders. This week i'm getting a 2" lift via new suspension from Toyotec...because I bottomed out way too much last year. And under-body armor in the next couple months before I do Elephant Hill ( I did snag backcountry camping permits ) for mid-March in Canyonlands.
It's really opened up a whole new part of Colorado and surrounding states for me ( and the family ). Thanks for letting me into this group and sharing this great passion.
I've attached an image, a picture of the Taco on the ledge near Immogene pass. I was too scared to go all the way out!
