Yankee Hill 12/30

had a good morning/afternoon out at Yankee Hill. I was late to the game, so I hustled and met up with the group at the top of Yankee. we played on some of the side shoots, but they proved too snowy. played around in the mine a bit, too. Matt made the climb out look easy.

I left the group after Yankee, but I think they went on to Apex after I was done.

I'm looking forward to pictures. While I planned to join in, the jeep said it wanted to take the day off. `put the key in and turned to ON, the dash and fuel pump were normal - but no noise when I turned to START. I put jumper cables on - no change. I even banged on the starter - no change.

This afternoon, in the warmer part of the day - jumped in and it started as if it were a summer day.

Now I'm guessing - steering column switch or starter motor solenoid...

Looks like a great time. I'm sad I missed out on the fun, but I was rewarded with delivery notice of my hard top so I spent the evening picking that up from the freight depot.

I didn't get many pics today but here are a few I liked. Due to bad luck, or some sort of stealth technology, none of my pics of the two beastly RAM trucks turned out. I was lucky they were there though as I took advantage of their presence as an excuse to do silly things and buried my rig.

I missed the quarry everyone else was playing in as I took a super fun spur but it was too tight for the big trucks to take without body damage.

Anyone who doesn’t go wheeling in the winter doesn’t know what they’re missing! Yes Shane buried himself and got stuck, Moose also got top centered and needed a tug to get free. And sometimes you get stuck more than you move forward...... but the rewards are worth it!!!
