Default Peru Creek, Cinnamon Gulch and Chihuahua Gulch

Had a great time with Ty, Matt, Mark, Andy and all the families. My wife, Anna and friend, Dan was on the trip as well. This was Dan’s first off road trip and he had a blast!

We met at the trailhead and aired down.

Then we headed straight to Cinnamon Gulch. This is a short and pretty easy trail. As far as fun goes, not so much. However, the Callo mine at the bottom of the trail was really cool. We spent quite a bit of time here wandering and checked out the area.

We then left and went the rest of the way up Peru Creek trail which was, quite honestly, uneventful. There are a couple of small mine ruins but a civic could make it up there. I know, because I saw a civic up there.. There is a hiking trail at the end of Peru Creek but we didn’t head up there.

Then we headed back down Peru Creek and heading to Chihuahua Gulch. On the way, we saw a completely uncamoflauged Bronco which was pretty awesome. The picture is just of its dusty rear end but it was quite pretty coming at us.

Once we got to Chihuahua Gulch, we headed up the hill on this, the funnest trail of the day (IMHO). It has some rocks, some water, and a tree across the road We had lunch at the top, where there is another hiking trail which we did not do. The path down was uneventful until... the flat tire! Fortunately for us, we were most of the way down so we were able to get back out to nice flat Peru Creek to change the tire. It took a while so we called this the end of the day. Back down to the trailhead and aired back up and headed home!

    More pics coming

    Airing down...

And the carnage! Lots of machinations of jacks and moving tires from front to back.

Great day with lots of folks I hadn’t met before. Thanks all!

In case it looks like I was about to be brained by that jack, I was slightly off to the side

I don't trust those things and mine is from harbor freight!

My (few) photos and videos. There is a bonus dust cloud with what looks like a strange JK going up Civic Drive. This is the rare Broncus Fordus, spotted in the wild.

Had a great time guys! Bummed I missed the Bronco sighting putzing around on the tail end. Didn't get any pictures but the posted ones perfectly capture the day. Great job with the tire swap..all 3 of them haha. Hopefully the fires and weather allow for a few more trips!

We had a great time despite the tire issue! Part of the adventure.

Just got the WK home after bringing an Expedition home to replace the brakes. Got some stuff to fix.

Upper AC Delco replacement radiator hose doesn't seem to be doing the job - MOPAR ordered. Rear diff is leaking. Transmission leak (started before the trip) - think it's a sensor o ring. And of course the tire Will try filling it up soon to see if the gash goes all the way through.

    Love it!
