    Default The Full Send Adventure

This is a summary thread to tie together the 8 separate single-day threads for the extraordinary trip we undertook between September 19 and September 26, 2020.

    Day 8 - https://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums...Moab-to-Denver

We planned this trip to cover the maximum number of dirt and trail miles over the 8 days between Montrose and Moab / Canyonlands. The first leg of the journey, days 1 and 2, cover the pavement portion from Denver to Monticello, UT. Ty, Shane, and Trent travel this route together and camp in the forest for two nights. On day 3 we meet up with Matt in Monticello and travel through the Canyonlands Needles district area for three days and two nights. On day 5 we head to Moab and Matt changes his original plan of heading towards Hanksville, deciding to remain with the rest of us for some Moab wheeling. On Day 7 Matt heads home after some grueling wheeling. On Day 8 we end our adventure with some easy, scenic dirt roads and a bit of I-70 back to the front range.

For my part, this has been the biggest adventure and most thrilling trip of my life. I filled up my Jeep on 9/19/2020 at 89217 on the odometer for the first time, and for the last time on 9/26/2020 in Eagle at 90299 before rolling the rest of the way home. We covered over 1,000 miles of roads this week, and I estimate about 400 miles of this distance was dirt, forest road, or trail. Through the week, I could watch Ty and Matt gain confidence on the trails and increasing command of their vehicles as the challenges we overcame honed their skills and brought great satisfaction to us all.

In particular, I'm glad to have had this experience with Matt, Ty, and Shane. Each of these guys willingly and enthusiastically sought adventure each day of this trip, and we've been able to share a truly unique experience.

I was just thinking about this on Saturday, there is a show on in the morning called Rock the Park and they were at Canyonlands, hiking and camping in the Joint Trail and Chesler Park via Elephant Canyon. I'm looking forward to the trip reports, glad it worked out so well!!

Wow, what a great week! Although I didn’t make the first few days or the last day, I had an amazing time on each of the 5 days I spent with Trent, Ty & Shane (and Trents daughter also). The Beef Basin and Canyonlands days and nights were beyond my expectations, so remote and serious wheelin’. Hiking the Joint trail and the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers trails was a blast also! The Needles district blew my mind and Elephant hill was absolutely amazing.... perhaps my favorite trail ever? Not sure since Friday’s run was absolutely epic! It was fun, it was long and it was hard.... we all got a little stressed at times but we managed to make it with no issues and a little daylight to spare. I drove back home Friday night and missed the last day with the group.
I truly enjoyed spending the week with these guys and would do it again in a heartbeat! These guys are the real deal!!! This was definitely the best wheelin’ and adventure trip of my life also! I will be doing more of this type of adventure in the near future for sure!

This trip was everything I hoped it would be, I can't wait to do another like it. I had never camped more than a couple of days at a time before, and definitely never undertaken anything like this. Knowing everyone there had my back gave me the confidence to jump in and do a trip far bigger than I had ever taken on knowing no matter what happened, they would get me home...and a few unexpected things definitelty happened!

As the other's have said it was an epic trip and truly unique experience. Also it felt like a rolling garage and gas station and recovery crew in one. All of our gear combined made me feel pretty darn safe even on the most remote and difficult trip of my life.
