Devil's Canyon was very clean. Upper side only had broken glass and old shells by the fire pits. Good weather and good people. Thanks to James for putting this together.

Good run. Lots of casings and clays on Barbour Fork. Thanks, everyone.

Thanks to all for a great turn out...think it made clean up quite easy. Can't post much now as we have an evening commitment, but will post some details and photo later.

Wondering if someone left a wheel chock at the DC trailhead where we aired up...maybe David?

I'm not far from Englewood - shouldn't be too hard to get it back to you.

    Great time today!

Kids had a blast getting out and helping to clean up. They said it was like hide and seek with garbage.

Had some new technical sections that helped me with my confidence. The F150 did great, and I felt great finding my lines. Anca got out once during a whoop section to see what it was like outside and is getting more used to the trails.

    Very nice to meet everyone!

Again, thanks to all for the large turn-out! Quick report for Devils Canyon...the entrance and first few switchbacks up to the sign board were as clean as I've ever seen them. Looks like the FS had dismantled a number of the firepits. Our FR4x4 adopt a road sign was still in place. The group split into two, with one group taking the right fork and going along the ridge (246.1) and the group I went with took the lower left fork just past the sign (246.1A), and found very little trash. We went pretty far down the dead end 246.1B spur and found a campsite with a hot fire pit. We did our best to put out the smoking coals with extra water and sand etc....

We met back together on the 'lower back bench' where 246.1A does the loop (There are, and always have been, some unofficial connector roads between 246.1 and the back loop on 246.1A - they aren't on the MVUM, but the FS is not concerned about them.)

Very little trash that I saw - some shooting debris as usual. In general, it seemed there were a lot of day users out in 4WDs and SxSs etc, but not a lot of campers etc. The couple of whoop-de-doo sections on the back side of the loop are still there - and probably dug out with tire spin a bit more than usual.

The fall colors were not as striking as some years - don't know if we were a few days early, or if the snow from last week took a lot of the leaves off early....but still some nice color in a few spots:

Yep - and he sat there waiting for a picture to be taken - a true poser!

(recommended - a fun picture to have)

For the folks on Barbour Fork: The hikers we met recorded video of us working up the dug-out area. The link starts where it's of more interest:
