Default Hello from Littleton fellow 4 wheelers and Jeepers

Hey guys, I’m a native Coloradan and Jeep fan. I’ve owned 4x4’s for 22 years including Broncos, nissans and Jeeps. I’m currently on my 5th Jeep a 2012 jk 4dr that I love to work on. I do most of my mechanical work but at 43yr my brain thinks I can do then my body allows me to. I’ve been on a lot of good trails here and in Moab. I love to take my 7 & 10yr old daughters with me wheeling since the think it’s like a “slow rollercoaster” on trails. My wife loves being the passenger but makes sure I’m driving the right way at all times I do miss the days when there were fire access roads everywhere that were open to the public. These days I’m more of a beginner to medium level trail guy who looks for nature and great views instead of large rock gardens. I top out at red elephant hill or spring creek trail but holy cross is to tough on my old body. Thanks guys and I look forward to meeting new friends.

Welcome Matt, practically neighbors, I really want to be more active with Front Range. Maybe I can make the clean-up run? Hope to run a trail with you before the snow flies.

Welcome! I'm not far behind you at 38.

I have a 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son (he'll be 8 on Sunday).

I'm new to the group, about 2 months. Everyone has been great! I went on 2 runs, one to Kingston and the Devil's Canyon cleanup. Both in my stock F150. I also bought a WK from a fellow member. We're having a blast!

Thank you Tom for the invite. I haven't been active for a month now. When there is a next clean up I will be there. I've lived in Colorado since 1981 (5yrs old) and it's crazy how much trash is out in the wilderness these days.

I hope to go even with the snow. Snow wheeling is fun when you have a lot of recovery gear

I've only had the milestars for 3k miles so it's early to tell. They are a brand new design (newest tech) that I could afford. They are the most quiet MT's I've ever had (12th set of MT's now). I can go 80mph (with beadlocks) and no problems. They run at 35psi on road and the middle section is more like an AT tire. Cornering is no problem since they are soft. They did require a lot of weights so it might just be how well they were balanced. Off road they stick to everything I've thrown at them at 12psi. They are soft tires but they aren't wearing as fast as I thought they would. Looks like the same wear as my last set of Toyo's. It's amazing how good Mt's have gotten in the 2 decades I've been wheeling. I remember my old Pro Comps in 1996 (that were designed in the 1980's) you could barely talk on the highway since they were so loud, which I'm sure they are designed better these days (maybe). But for the the price of $250 each 38's it couldn't be beat. Tires have gotten insanely expensive lately so I was surprised how much everyone likes them but I'm starting to believe the good reviews are right. Good pic, I loved my old LJ, wish I never sold it, you got gold sitting in your garage

Awesome WK ! I had a 05 limited that I put 33's and a 2" spacer kit on. At the time everyone thought I was crazy taking such a nice suv 4x4ing but the damn thing went up everything and never broke. The LSD's worked very well (quadratrac system). The bottom "skid plates" were destroyed and I dragged it over more rocks than I like to mention but man was it a fun and good 4x4. Unfortunately it died an early death and was totaled.

Yeah, snow wheeling is always interesting., a great way to get out there. Usually I join in on a New Years day run. Sometimes it's a snow run, depending on where we end up going.
