Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking of starting (or reviving) a ham-specific run where anyone was invited but scheduled to get as many hams on the trail as possible. Of course, first things first, I'm not even a ham yet so I need to get crackin on getting licensed.

Perhaps you'll just have to sneek out to the driveway a time or two and check-in with those on the mountain...

I ham capable to send a digital file - a picture?

Looks like a good turnout expected for tomorrow. Just wanted to post that it looks like a typical afternoon rain storm is expected tomorrow, probably while we are still out on the trail. Shouldn't be a day ruiner just wanted to give a heads up so everyone can be prepared.

I'll be listening on that frequency but can't transmit. I'll be listening on cb channel 4, and at the rendezvous point a bit early

Jim just now reading this. I believe hams have figured out how to send pictures and even broadcast video

Just saw this. Simplex is line of site. I have no line of site to anywhere on Kingston. Don’t know what repeater might work but we’d have to have agreed on that previously and we didn’t. Pictures can be sent in some digital modes but I am not set up for digital except for aprs. Would still have line of site issues or have tofind a digital repeater..

That said I may try some simplex. Never know might just bounce off a mountain somehow and get through.

Tried 3 times between 10 am and 12:45 pm transmitting at 50 watts. No joy or if they heard me were trransmitting at lower power and I couldn’t pick em up.

A little bit of driveway quiet, away from hectic party noise - priceless
