    Default Gear Pattern Opinions Wanted

Just getting through my first regear, I wanted to get some options on my gear pattern as this is my first time doing it. This is the first pattern I’ve ran during setup, and looking at the Yukon manual it actually looks good. But I’m suspicious with it being the first pattern. Anyone done gears before that cares to weigh in?

Congrates on your first gear set-up, I have no advice to give as I am going to attempt it myself for the first time too. Want to also monitor your thread to see what others advise you.

I've only set up a couple gears, but that pattern looks good...I'd run it assuming your backlash is good.

contact looks great, and judging from the tips of the gears in the background of the second pic I think your depth is on point too. Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback y'all! I am going to play with some depth settings on the pinion just for my own knowledge, but I will post up a picture of my final pattern here and any changes I made and why for everyone's reference.

Finally finished the axles up last week, should have them swapped in this weekend. Here’s some pictures of the final patterns I’m going with. Ultimately I decided the above indicated the pinion was too deep due to the harsh flat bottom on the drive side and the downturned edges.

On the front I initially thought that the coast pattern was too heel heavy, but I did email the pictures to Yukon and they approved and said they’d run it. Generally I think drive side pattern is the more important one, and they do explicitly say to focus on face/flank centering and heel/toe centering is sometimes impossible. But hey, it’s my first regear/axle build so what do I know.
