I'll put up a fun pic.

The location was some forest service road northeast from Slumgullion Pass. We were several miles into a "nowhere" area, stopped at what the MVUM lists as a campground but as we visited is now a day use area - Cebolla Day Use Area (Google Map). While there I saw an unexpected site - and was able to get the camera working quick enough to catch the sight... UPS making deliveries to the forest.

I am AMAZED at seeing that commercial vehicle out in that area - no less the time of 6:11PM. I gotta say - I'd rather have this route than any downtown city route.

The next morning, heading north on CO-149 from Powderhorn to Gunnison we saw a similar truck heading towards Lake City. It was likely the same truck and driver.

Another pic to stick up now... Yes, you can drive the low clearance family sedan to Animas Forks.

It was a good time with family. Scenery didn't hurt though ;-)

`would go again in a second.

While we weren't "rushed" we didn't have much unallocated or down time. I could see adding a bit of that into the mix.

I would not have considered it - Argentine Pass was the highest elevation we encountered on the trip. A somewhat non-descript pass - but it takes the cake, besting the "big name" passes. Heck, even the notable Red Cone mountain peak is only (HA!, only) 12,801 ft.

    I like it too ;-)

Imogene, just "uphill" from the poser rock spot. I recalled that there was "some spot" where you could get a pic that was similar to the Top of the World spot. I saw this spot and set the jeep out there - and noticed THE spot downhill from this. Others were posing at poser so when we got to that spot we drove right on by.
