I'm not sure if this is the right place for this "report", but I decided to put it here anyways.
Many of you remember Rob, a former member here who was (and still is) a great guy to go wheeling with. Due to the fact that he works weekends, he left the group a long while ago because he couldn't participate much. But since "the COVID Season" has me out of work completely, I have been able to hook up with Rob 4 times so far and we completed 5 trails:
- Switzerland Trail in it's entirety. (It was pretty much the only thing open at the time)
- Pickle Gulch (The usual "getting lost" and laughing about it as we always came back to the 4-way intersection). We covered a lot of ground!
- Pole Hill & Johnny Park Rd. (Tom Joined us on these ones).
- MSV - We ran this yesterday and had a great time. Tom was going to join us as well but had to bow out to help his son after a robbery incident. The Gatekeeper was a surprise to both of us! We had no trouble, but I don't recall the trail having that many obstacles. Quite a few small water crossings that weren't there in the previous times I've run it either. We stopped at the end and opted out of doing Coney. We went back the way we came without incident.
I miss wheeling with the group, but under the current situation, I'm playing it as safe as possible and so is Rob. Avoiding weekends is a key!
This is the Gatekeeper on the way back out. We thought it was easier going up!
