Default Bostonian marries CO girl, moves to Castle Rock. Bought a jeep.

Hi all! I am originally born and raised in the suburbs of Boston. Grew up round the city and lived in the city for 4 years until 2018. Met a beautiful woman from Colorado, somehow we ended up married. Now somehow I ended in living in Castle Rock with 2 dogs, a house, and 1992 Colorado Red Cherokee Laredo that I literally just finished restoring most of the way on 6/22/20. I owned a Miata for 5 years and then crashed it. I spent 4 months rebuilding the front end and then decided to completely take it apart and sell it. After I finished that project I felt confident to buy an old jeep and I did. I put 3 months of hard work into getting it back into factory spec condition, I even learned how to weld in the process. I am so excited to take the wife and dogs on outings and see the views that normal cars will never get to. I'm looking for easy to moderate off-roading. In fact, this Sunday, 6/28 I will be taking the jeep on a test drive somewhere and could use a buddy for support in case anything happens. After that, I am going up Baldy Rd in Breckenridge for the 4th of July. If anyone wants to tag along for that one too, that would be awesome. Pic is from when I first purchased the jeep. It looked great physically but needed a ton of work for example the rear suspension is shot in this pic.

Haha! It's still a 10 footer, but trying not to look like all the other Cherokees! Won't be a pavement princess so a few scratches are fine.

Welcome to Colorado! Those tires look pretty "street" so you may want to get some AT or MT tires if you plan to offroad --- street tires will not last on rocky mountain trails! Otherwise looks like you'll have some fun

Welcome! They weren't kidding about good tires and pinstriping! I bought mine off the assembly line in 2008 and it was scratched within the first month of ownership. It's all good! You came to the right place for off-roading!

Do the 92's have the triangle windows that pivot open? I always liked those for some reason.

Hi Rick, we can definitely help you get some trail runs in before the snow starts falling! But are you ready to catch the feavor and pour an insanely amount time and money modifying your rig. It's bound to happen, but honestly a good pair of BFG ko's slightly larger than stock (30" tires) would make you very happy with out modifying a thing. That rig with those tires would be awesome! Cheers! David
