New to the group and the hobby

Hi all -

I'm Tad. Currently live in the neighborhood soon to be formerly known as Stapleton, so northeast side. I currently drive a 2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU Rubicon, auto, factory 2.5' lift on 315/70R17 General Grabber ATx. Bought my rig built, as it was my first one, and I have really enjoyed her. More of an overlander than a true crawler, but I'm certainly down for running trails and conquering the occasional challenging obstacle. Love to camp out - have a basic offroad capable overlander trailer with RTT and awning for the purpose. Always bring my MTB and my dog anywhere I go. Have a 16 year old daughter half time who I'm trying to teach how to drive off-road. Doesn't want to enjoy it, but she does. And she seems to have some skills.

Looking forward to learning from grizzled pros on here and making some new friends with whom to put The Beast through her paces.

What's with the Stapleton name? Is there a rename in process?

Yes, there is a rename in process in light of the less than savory history of the namesake. It's been interesting - the developer retained the rights to change the name, but put it to a vote of the residents (actually, just the owners) about six months back or so. It failed. But with the current climate, the developer exercised its rights and is mandating the rename. Owners/residents are being consulted on what the new name will be, but there will be a new name. I think it's the right call - the current name causes a lot of people a lot of pain.
