In a never ending search for the proper mix of dirt & rock !
I’ll add to this, still haven’t gotten home! GoSlo, Fatkids, ColoradoDave and Crawlex all met up Tuesday morning to run Top of the World and it was as advertised...... amazing!!!
Afterwards Fatkids, GoSlo and myself (and GoSlo’s buddy) went and ran Hells Revenge! Wow, amazing route but would be better without all the tourist groups everywhere (even on a Tuesday night). We ended up not starting until 6pm so as you can imagine we didn’t get off until around 10pm and it was dark, scary and sketchy coming down in the dark..... but it also made it awesome and epic!!!!
Ill add some more pictures and videos over the weekend.

I added more video footage and got rid of the duplicates and music. I'm going to redo the Canyonlands video to include video of us going down the switchbacks and driving into camp.....

So when is the next trip? Looks like a great time.
Man, I'm already thinking about a fall trip. September or early October or early November..... I'd like to do something more remote and not centered around Moab. Perhaps the White Rim Trail in it's entirety, since we were not able to this time. Or something in the San Rafael, Grand Staircase or elsewhere in the desert area of Western Colorado to Southern Utah. But actually my wife will probably want to come so maybe it will need to be Moab centered for hotels. I definitely need to do at least one night camping if not two....

October and November are great months in Moab. The temps are much more pleasant than June, I hear.
So in regards to the White Rim trail..... goSlo and I were planning to run it from the east to west but with the Green River being too high and flooding Upheaval Wash (where I winched the couple out) we decided to change plans and go in from the West to the first camp and came back out that way the next morning. I am going to download the video of us going down the switchbacks to Mineral Bottom on the Green River and also of us driving the narrow road into our camp. After camping, goSlo and his friend and kids headed back to Moab and I ran Taylor Canyon, a 6 mile easy road that leads to the awesome rock formations of Zeus and Moses. Then I ran back out and back to Moab to goSlos Air-b-n-b to drop off all the stuff I carried for them (tents, stove, sleeping bags, beer, food, etc). After I dropped it off I ran the White Rim trail from the East (our original plan) going in from Potash road. I ran in about 20 miles or so, and turned around before I could make it to the White Crack road because I did not have a permit to camp so I had to head back out the way I came. Overall, I ran probably close to half the trail but I did not get to the major obstacles and attractions so I'd love to go do the entire trail again!

One of my most favorite trails in Utah is just outside Capitol Reef. Not at all technical but omg the scenery. Vids and pics do not do it justice.

Holy cow this was such a great time and group. Can't wait to go back and do it all again and more!
Tom, that’s the kind of stuff I’m looking for! Not hard trails but remote trails to amazing places! I drove past the trailhead for this in March when I did my road trip to California to pickup my son. That entire southeastern part of Utah fascinates me!

I want to do Top of the World again! I'll never forget that feeling when you reach the top!
Here we are at the beginning of that trail, April 13, 2012. Don't have any pics of your jeep on the trail though. I think you were a couple in front of me.
