Wrangler 4xE, Defender, and Bronco w/ Sasquatch on Red Cone
Why don't these guys carry a plug kit?

Ouch - back to back sidewall cuts - same rock - bummer.
At that curve - at least they have ample space to leave the vehicle for others to pass.
He's thinking he can't go back???? Just turn around and go back. Rolling down the ?gatekeeper? is easier than heading up and over it.
I wondered how much of a difference the electric mode jeep would have on-trail vs. on-highway - a significant difference.
Those low profile tires really never have a chance offroad. I don't think the current Defender is designed to be a legitimate offroad vehicle anyway, it used a legacy name for image, but it's really just a fancy SUV. Nice for what it is.

I'll just leave this here. :smug:
Wow, the new Bronco has a ton of cool features! No ventilated seats though. Do all those different driving modes make a difference? I don't know if I've ever worried too much about having sand mode and wet mode and Baja mode and rock mode and this mode and that mode. 4LO and HI seem to work pretty well for me.
As I was watching it I was comparing it to the Wrangler, and a lot of the things on it work the same. The hard top looks like it comes off very similarly to the front freedom panels with the latches, the tailgate swings out exactly the same, the rear glass goes up the same. Lots of similarities to the Wrangler. I'm not super familiar with the newest model JL, but it seems like they designed the Bronco with a lot of the same features.
The body is the biggest difference. The Wrangler body ends where the tires are, the Bronco pushes out the body to be over the tires. That's why the Wrangler has huge fenders. You can see the difference when you look in the cargo area, it looks humongous in there. I can't fit a whole lot in the back of my JK, the Grand Cherokee a few generations ago has way more cargo area.
New channel, he's building a budget bronco
Finally, someone actually driving it like one of us would

So for real, who's getting one? The new Bronco has lots of cool features and it looks great on and off road. The thing that made me post this is the "Trail Turn Assist". Also the front camera is pretty high quality from what I see.
I’m going to pass for now but I likely will add a front facing camera and turn assist features to my rig. I’m a fan of a lot about it, just not looking for a new rig at the moment.
They seem pretty cool, but way out of my price range...

Although I do love old iron, there are modern 4x4s that I like. I do love me an LJ, but the JK series kind of fell flat to me. The new JL line is much more interesting. I would also buy a gladiator in a minute to replace my tacoma if they would just make it in a short cab (2 door) with longer bed. As for non-Jeep 4x4s, there haven't been many competitors over the last 10+ years (maybe even 20). The Bronco could be sweet, but even if I sold both jeeps and my truck, I still couldn't afford one. And while old jeeps can be a lot of work keeping them running, they are a fraction of the cost.

curious that the engine was ejected from the engine bay.
From the carnage photo - it's still way high up the mountain - they're lucky it didn't go farther. Maybe only one switchback - the end of the two-way area down one level???
